Mythic Iron Reaver - Holy Paladin

iron reaver is a pretty hectic fight because there is a lot of movement, explosion and damage. it is definitely a tough boss at first but i also find it very fun, at least to me.


Raid Cooldown

we plan our healing cooldown on pounding. there are 3 pounding in each phase 1. by the time phase 1 repeats again, all our 3 minutes healing cooldown will be ready again.

as a holy paladin, i'm usually assigned to use devotion aura at pound 2 or pound 3. it is also great to pair up my damage reduction cooldown with another healing throughput cooldown to counter the massive damage from pounding.

sometimes the healing leader will asked me to use devotion aura on the artillery right before the pounding. if i could time my devotion aura at the last second of artillery, it may last long enough to help the first or second tick of pounding damage too.


Avenging Wrath

1st AW = artillery before 1st pounding
2nd AW = 3rd pounding
3rd AW = when boss land
4th AW = 3rd pounding
5th AW = when boss land

ideally, i hope to use avenging wrath for pounding as often as possible. it should be use slightly earlier before 1st pounding so that i can use it again for the 3rd pounding.

i also choose to use avenging wrath when the boss land because i know the 1st pounding will come shortly after that. at this moment, everybody is still running back from phase 2 and some players will have very low hp. using avenging wrath to top up their hp quickly before the pounding became very important!


Important Notes

barrage is a one-shot kill mechanic. it is very important not to get hit, not even once. the reaction time given to us is long enough, always stay calm and dodge to the left or right of the boss, never run back because you cannot out-run barrage.

blitz is easy to deal with, same as barrage, just dodge the boss to the left or right. players getting hit by blitz will suffer a DOT damage, which can be cleansed.

during phase 2, we split up our raid into 4 corners to deal with the bombs evenly. 1 healer is assigned to 1 corner. we have a 5th healer that will roam around and help the corner that is affected by artillery, especially when the corner healer is the one who is getting artillery.
